SAP Modernization

To support its international expansion which culminated in 2015 with the integration of its competitor, Nuplex, the chemical company needed to modernize its ageing ERP SAP system. It placed its trust in delaware to migrate all its production between October 2015 and June 2016 to a ‘state of the art’ version of SAP.

In addition to the technical modernization, this project driven by both IT and business aimed to standardize and optimize a number of operational processes to meet the growing requirements of international customers, in a context of market consolidation.

With the support of the technical and functional background from delaware, Allnex is pleased to have capitalized on this migration technique to initiate continuous improvement of its internal processes and data. A number of efficiencies have been gained, for instance, to find out the origin of a product more quickly and to accelerate formalities at customs. Overall, Allnex has increased visibility into all its data.

Increased flexibility

In the end, the company gained in agility, directly benefitting the service to its customers. Increased standardization of internal processes and progress in compliance management also give it more flexibility to make acquisitions.

This two-year project, including a major change management component, was conducted from the site in Brussels of the group (based in Frankfurt). Belgium was the pilot country for a deployment that involved 5 countries in its initial phase.

In total, some 2,500 users have been directly impacted.
