delaware North America is looking for an Accountant and a Controller that wants to be part of our team.

Job Role and Responsibilities

The Financial Controller will oversee all aspects of the US finance function in order to support the fast pace of grow anticipated for the future. This is a hands-on role that will require the Financial Controller to understand the day-to-day accounting processes and support the Finance team in order to drive continuous process improvement, whilst also being involved in supporting the strategic direction of the company.

The Accountant is a newly created role to support the Financial Controller to ensure accurate accounting to support a fast-growing business. This is a hands-on role that will initially require the successful candidate to get involved in the day-to-day transactional accounting and subledger postings. They will then get the opportunity to train and coach a junior member of staff who will join the team at a later stage. This is a great opportunity to join a business at a very exciting time and to develop and grow the role along with their career.

The role will consist of, but not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Process supplier invoices ensuring all Purchase Orders and Goods Receipts match invoice
  • Credit control and actively chasing overdue receipts
  • Create purchase orders in ERP system
  • Prepare monthly supplier statements of key suppliers
  • Manage weekly payment runs to ensure timely and accurate payment of suppliers
  • Set up payments in multiple bank portals and ensure that payments are approved on time
  • Ensure partner payments and other ad hoc payments are done in a timely manner
  • Processing bank transactions in ERP system daily
  • Prepare bi-monthly employer expenses reconciliations and set up the payments in the bank portal
  • Set up new project codes in ERP system according to the signed Statement of Work
  • Posting journals and revenue adjustments as required
  • Prepare payroll data for US, Puerto Rico and Canada and send to Operations Manager for review
  • Post payroll journals in ERP system
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and review with Financial Controller
  • Complete monthly intercompany reconciliation before month-end close and reach out to other group companies to resolve any variances
  • Provide accurate information to auditors
  • Support Financial Controller with annual budgets and monthly forecasting
  • Support Financial Controller with any Ad Hoc requests

Education and Experience

Accountant

  • New qualified or studying towards a professional accounting qualification
  • 3-5 years’ experience desirable


Controller

  • Professional accounting qualification
  • 10 years or more experience in finance or accounting teams


System Skills

  • ERP experience essential (SAP experience would be desirable but not essential)
  • Strong MS Excel experience is essential


Other Skills

  • Strong communicator
  • Comfortable to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to define and resolve problems
  • Comfortable with remote working and joining various online meetings daily


Additional Details

  • Flexibility to be based anywhere in Continental US or Puerto Rico
  • Must be US Citizen or Green Card Holder
