SAP’s 2H 2025 release delivers meaningful enhancements designed to make every day HR experiences faster, smarter, and more connected. Each biannual update to the Human Experience Management (HXM) suite focuses on improving usability, introducing AI-powered insights, and enabling smoother interactions for employees, managers, and candidates alike.

Employee central

Employees will find it easier to maintain personal information thanks to a redesigned Dependents UI that allows clearer editing, history viewing and validation. 

  • A new rule prevents a dependent from being linked to multiple employees, eliminating duplicate relationships. 
  • The Home Page view for self-service actions has also been refined for better navigation and task visibility. 


Position management 

Managers gain greater control over team structures with Quick Actions for position changes improved hierarchy-adaptation limits and enhanced termination import handling. 

  • These refinements keep organisational charts up to date and make position changes faster and more reliable. 


Recruiting (candidate & recruiter experience)

  • Recruiters can now filter applicants by assessment score and recommendation, making it faster to identify top-fit candidates. 
  • A new View Profile button provides instant access to full candidate details, improving screening efficiency. 
  • Enhanced LinkedIn Recruiter System Connect (RSC) integration keeps candidate and requisition data synchronised across systems, while tighter integration with Onboarding ensures selected hires move seamlessly into pre-hire activities with accurate information. 


Onboarding 2.0

  • New hires enjoy a smoother start with auto-completion of manager tasks such as Prepare for Day 1 and Write Welcome Message. 
  • Document AI now extracts national-ID details from uploaded forms, while rehire validation prevents duplicate records when an ID already exists. 
  • Eligible candidates are automatically initiated into Onboarding from Recruiting, creating a faster, seamless hand-off. 


Compensation 

Planners experience a faster, cleaner worksheet with instant recalculations when values change. 

  • Inline visibility of totals and smoother navigation simplify the planning experience during merit and bonus cycles. 


Performance & goals / calibration  

  • Managers and employees can now view rating-change history directly within calibration sessions, improving transparency around performance discussions. 
  • Comments from related sessions are automatically aggregatedproviding a comprehensive view of feedback. In addition, talent data can now be transferred from an employee’s inactive employment to their active employment upon rehiregiving organisations immediate access to historical performance information without manual reporting. 


Succession & career development planning 

  • SAP expands its AI capabilities by recommending successors to managers based on employees’ skills, attributes, and prior experience. 
  • Administrators can adjust weighting for these attributes, helping managers maintain accurate, real-time succession plans. 
  • Employees also benefit from AI-driven career insights that suggest mentors, development goals, and learning opportunities tailored to their role. 


Learning 

  • Managers now have greater flexibility in team learning management—they can update assignment due dates and withdraw learners directly from Team View, reducing administrative effort. 
  • For learners, smarter search experience and dynamic upcoming-class listings make discovering and enrolling in training easier. 
  • Updates to user and notification management, along with stronger SFTP and iContent integrations, enhance reliability and communication. 
    Together, these improvements make learning management more intuitive, connected, and efficient.

Time management

  • Employees gain a more flexible and accurate time experience. Automatic recalculation keeps balances correct when holiday calendars change. 
  • Geofencing ensures mobile clock-in/out only within authorised locations, boosting compliance. 
  • In Consolidated Time Recording, absences can now be requested directly from the My Timesheet UI and sync instantly with SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud.
