What do you like most about your job?‘What do you like most about your job?’ sounds like a plain question. But can you answer it immediately?
Although I love my job, I can’t.
Let’s take a step back and first ask yourself: ‘What do I love doing as a person?’. Me, I like interacting with people. And according to Maslow, (an American psychologist who’s best known for his pyramid of needs, a theory of psychological health predicated on fulfilling innate human needs in priority, culminating in self-actualization), everybody has the need to do so. But next to my social life, I’m happy that my job allows me to put that into practice. As an HR Officer in recruitment and selection, I communicate with both people inside and outside the organization.
And that’s one thing that I love about my job.

One more thingI’m not that surprised to see that almost all our colleagues refer to teamwork, commitment and care, which are, not coincidentally, Delaware Consulting values. Also ‘knowledge sharing’ is frequently mentioned.
I like to add one more myself. I’m offered the opportunity to work flexible hours. The fact that my employer focuses on results instead of hours and/or exact location makes it able to retain a good work-life balance. Add the fact that we’re all working in a stable and healthy company (≈security) and I can tell you that we beat Maslow’s pyramid :).
